Currently, another people power has transcribed and voices are taken on the streets again. Too bad for me I could no longer witness how my colleagues and neighbors would react to the present situation. I personally think our region never wanted to change the president way back during EDSA 2. But clearly, it was the voice of Luzon that surfaced. We felt undermined. We never had the chance to air our sentiments. Just recently, I witnessed how the people in Luzon took their pride on the streets. But same as usual, I haven't heard the voices of those from my hometown.
Perhaps this is because media is absent (or not that blatant) in our place. And media is apparently the best path to be heard. To be informed. That is one aspect I would like to raise. This then leads me to the point of charter change. Maybe it's the hope that we need to become independent and be heard. If we are federalized then maybe we'll have an ABS-CBN or GMA. Whatsoever. We need our opinions to be given importance. To be a part of the country's decisions.
Do they want a knew president? Do they feel robbed by the present government? Are they supporting Jun Lozada as much as Luzon stress it? How about Visayas? I have no idea. But soon, in week's time, I shall be able to hear their heeds and I intend to have it heard nationwide. So that Philippines will be Philippines, not just a geological subdivision where the cities are heard and the mountains aren't. This crippled nation needs help. Trust me, it does.
