Why I Hate Late

A few minutes ago, I found out that I have been a dumb loser again. Failing to meet a certain deadline of a prestigious institution and now, I think I'm doomed. I hate late. I hate being late. It ruins everything, it shatters my world apart. It is the culprit of my dreams. Regrets eat me like spam inasmuch as I feel drunk for realizing that I have given all the freedom to this intangible culprit to ruin everything I have been planning for months. It sucks and it sucks. That's all.

Oh yes, being late isn't new to me. I have garnered several awards way back in high school, elementary and even when I was in nursery (yeah, I found notes from my nursery teachers on my mom's file box). But things are different now, you can't just let a big fish slip away from your grip. As they say, "strike while the iron is hot." And I am very well oriented with that. However, the problem with me is, I don't feel the hotness of the iron until I realize that something is already burning. Well, metaphorically speaking it just boils down to the very point of this post--and that is, I am a clumsy flimsy reckless late comer. And with this, I need to charge the consequences to my "opportunity excess credits." What a life.

i hate late to. i am a systematic planner. i plan to the dot. but sometimes, in as much as we plan ahead, and how meticulously we plan, wala... late pa rin..due to unforseen circumstances: traffic, illness, any fortuitous event ( fortunate and unfortunate)

but what i can't forgive is if i am late due to my own laziness...

err, i have the same problem myself mom len. i always bring a planner with me and i jot down every single errand I need to do for a certain day. but still, I am often left behind by deadlines. darn it!

I think my unforgivable guilt is sleeping in the midst of a deadline or an errand or any thing in any day. tsk, that's why I hate sleep. It's such a waste of time! guh

Tom was in his early 50s, retired and started a second career. However, he just couldn't seem to get to work on time. Every day, he was five, 10, 15 minutes late.
But, he was a good worker and real sharp, so the boss was in a quandary about how to deal with it. Finally, one day he called Tom into his office for a talk.
"Tom, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic. You do a bang- up job, but your being late so often is quite bothersome."
"Yes, I know boss and I am working on it."
"Well good, you are a team player. That's what I like to hear. It's odd though, your coming in late. I know you're retired from the Air Force. What did they say if you came in late there?"
"They said, 'Good morning, General."

It's really hard when one is used of being served and not following any form of deadlines. I mean like, when one owns one's time. When no one speculates one's fault or one's mistake. It's hard to get used to all that then reaches the point of adjusting. I am no General, but I sure used to be used to all that is mentioned above. Harsh -_-
