Rally on March 14 3PM

Dear friends,

Warm greetings of peace and solidarity!

Our inter-faith gathering last February 29 was an enormous success, the biggest ever mobilization for truth since anomalies in the ZTE-NBN deal were exposed by Jose de Venecia III and Engr. Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada.

Up to 85,000 students, teachers, workers, professionals, lawyers, the religious, and all others from different walks of life gathered in prayer, chants, and songs to denounce widespread corruption in government and to stand-up for genuine social and economic change.

Youth and students took center stage in the activity, foiling attempts by Malacanang to stop youth participation in the event, such as "bomb threats" and cancellation of classes at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and other schools.

However, our struggle for the truth is far from over. One can even say that it has only begun. We still have a government that is shameless and that refuses to listen to the people that it purports to serve. We still have a government that is yet to account for its crimes against the people. We still have public officials that claim innocence despite massive evidence to the contrary.

Thus, before the Lenten break, before we finish our academic responsibilities, we invite you to attend the multi-sectoral gathering on March 14, 3pm-7pm at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.

Students from the University of the Philippines System, De La Salle University, Ateneo de
Manila University, University of Asia and the Pacific, University of Santo Tomas, Polytechnic
University of the Philippines, various High Schools among others shall be joining the urban poor, the business sector, and other sectors to make their mark and urge the government to listen to its people.

University Pep Squads, student performing groups, and the bands Datu's Tribe, Radioactive Sago Project, The Jerks, Stick Figgas, and the Musicians for Peace have been invited to perform on stage.

We encourage you to wear your school's colors and bring placards (the more creative and
youthful, the better), balloons, and your friends, schoolmates, and classmates along with you.

Youth assembly points are at Taft Avenue cor. Kalaw and UST-Espana at 1pm before marching to Liwasang Bonifacio. At the venue, the youth contingent shall be up front, before the stage.
